England Under-21 international Lukic is the tallest goalkeeper to play for Leeds at six feet four inches.

After his league debut against Brighton, Lukic played a club record 146 consecutive games in his first spell at Elland Road.

Following relegation in 1982 he joined Arsenal, where he won numerous honours.

After former Leeds apprentice David Seaman joined the Gunners, Lukic came back to Leeds as the club’s first £1 million goalkeeper.

Commanding in the air and a terrific shot-stopper, Lukic helped Leeds clinch the Division One title in 1992 but after the subsequent Charity Shield triumph at Wembley his form and confidence dipped.

Losing his place to Mark Beeney, he returned to help Leeds reach the 1996 Coca-Cola Cup final, then moved back to Highbury when Leeds bought Nigel Martyn.

Strange but true: His real name is Jovan Lukic.
